2010 shaping up to
be a busy year for
polymers
The year has barely begun, but at PolymerOhio three key initiatives to advance the future of the state’s robust polymer industry are in full swing.
The Ohio Polymer Industry Strategy Meeting kicked off January 28. More than 100 polymer industry executives, researchers, and government officials gathered to outline the future of Ohio’s polymer industry. Activities included small team meetings to focus on a list of key technologies that will drive the future of the Ohio polymer industry.
A second major initiative is designed especially to help small organizations tap into Ohio’s wealth of polymer expertise. In the 2nd quarter of 2010, the Ohio Polymer Professionals Network will launch as part of the Purchasing and Shared Services (PASS) Program. PASS will assemble a unique pool of experienced polymer industry executives. These experts will provide consulting services on a contract basis to smaller organizations who otherwise find it difficult to afford such specialized industry consultations.
Also, BioOhio and PolymerOhio are following up on opportunities discovered during a joint web conference late last year. The webinar brought together nearly 100 participants to discover new markets for polymer companies while expanding the prominence Ohio enjoys in the global bioscience industry.
A high-level industry strategy session, a unique program to share of Ohio’s polymer expertise, and an online collaboration between two Edison Centers to expand markets for all of us – shaping up to be a productive year, indeed.
