EMTEC integrates
success with
E-Technologies

One result of economic globalization is that virtually any product can be made virtually anywhere — and then shipped to markets everywhere. While this development often results in painful shifts in production resources, the Edison Materials Technology Center (EMTEC), together with E-Technologies, is playing an important role in changing the equation for Ohio manufacturers.

E-Technologies Group based in West Chester, Ohio, is an automation integrator that serves industrial and manufacturing clients such as Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Procter & Gamble, Pfizer and other nationally known manufacturers. E-Technologies has received numerous achievement awards, including a “Top 50 Engineering Firm” by INC Magazine.

E-Technologies’ success stems from its innovative service to manufacturers. E-Technologies engineers high-technology devices and information networks that enable its clients to make more product, and do it more efficiently. And when customers must adjust production to serve new customers’ needs, E-Technologies makes that possible, too. Clearly, E-Technologies is changing many stereotypes of manufacturing as an outdated, unsophisticated industry.

These advances come at a critical time. Many manufacturers are just one cancelled order or one lost customer away from going out of business, say E-Technologies’ co-Presidents Douglas Fagaly and Stephen Veldhuis. If these manufacturers do nothing to modernize operations, their business will fade away. But by investing to make their equipment more intelligent and capable, manufacturers can reduce scrap, increase productivity and quickly adjust to meet market opportunities.

EMTEC is proud to be a key adviser and consultant as E-Technologies has grown from 15 to over 50 employees. And as manufacturers in Ohio and around the world continue to develop “smart manufacturing” technology, the role of E-Technologies and EMTEC will grow and adapt, too.
